This wooden 7.5″ Pencil Popper has an intersting story. Again an avid Cape Cod Canal fisherman that I met selling my Little Neck popper at a Vintage Saltwater Lure Collector’s show. He start’s telling me about the Canal, it’s history and his Dad’s lures he used to make for the Canal. I offered to try to recreate a lure that his father made. It’s the Classic heavy Pencil Popper with the slanted flat belly to help it get up from the depths with the current. This fisherman’s nick name is” Bill on the Grill” Prodouz. Hence BP’s Canal Pencil Popper. Plus as with all our lures no matter what the color, we paint them with Blood Red mouths and chins running over a yellow haloed white belly. It’s also rigged with 4X VMC hooks.
